Sheira Feuerstein, the random spawn of delightful Israeli doctors that talk with funny accents, grew up absorbing and mimicking these and other funny dialects and personalities outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Then she stopped growing and developed a Napoleonic complex that manifests itself in a massive singing voice, (and the desire for a good, hearty mustache).
After receiving her B.A. in English from the University of Pennsylvania (UPENN) in 2008 (Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa), she attended the American Theatre Wing's SpringboardNYC program. She currently resides in New York City where she participates in and creates inventive, moving and exciting work, and laughter, as an actor and singer.
Off-Broadway: The Public Theater, “Julyfest,” Night of the Butterfly (Bleecker Street Theatre). Off-Off Broadway: Much Ado About Nothing (Queens Shakespeare), Living in a Musical (Theater for the New City), 365 Days/Plays, (Faux-Real Theatre Company), Questionable Content (Co-Op Theatre East), Blocked and Blocked (The Wellesley Project). Regional: Role of Winnifred (Fred) in Once Upon a Mattress (Millbrook Playhouse), Leading Ladies (The Theater Barn). Watch the Birdie (Philadelphia Music Theater Works, Out on Broadway! (Philadelphia Gay/Lesbian Theatre Festival). National Tour: Witches Brew (Enchante Cabaret). Credits include Maria in West Side Story (Pennsylvania Players); Lilli Vanessi/Kate in Kiss Me Kate (Pennsylvania Singers Light Opera Co.); Dorothy Brock in 42nd Street (Akiba Drama); Maggie Mundy in Dancing at Lughnasa (French Woods Festival); Carla/Saraghinna in Nine (Front Row Theatre Company), Woman 2 in Songs for a New World (iNtuitons Theatre Company).
Sheira was hailed in TimeOut New York for her "heartfelt performance" and "great belt."
